  • Recently there’s been a war of words, between CNN’s Don Lemon and Global Grind’s Russell Simmons; over follow-up comments Don Lemon made from a statement by Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly. Bill O’Reilly’s original statement touched on increasing violence within Black communities and his stated reason was the disintegration  of a family structure. Don Lemon added to […]

  • Ever wonder how you could help make a difference in your community? In communities across this nation, weekend after weekend young and old alike are being cut down by senseless gun violence. • Today is a sad day to be Black in America. Our morale is low. Our spirits are tired. Our justice system deemed another black life unworthy. We feel hopeless. Legally, it may appear as though we are at the end of our rope. Our system hasn’t achieved justice for Trayvon Martin. It’s things like this […]

  • It truly does give me hope and makes me smile, when I see the glimmers of hope for the future generations. We all should rejoice in these glimmers of hope, because they truly are the next us. And without the support of those that have made it and are striving to reach those plateaus they […]

  • Y.U.N.G. Harlem has grown so much in the last few years; I remember when Tiffany asked me to join the team while we were both sitting on the floor of her bedroom while on Spring Break from college. Back then I definitely didn’t know that Y.H. could turned from just a thought into the actual movement it is today – it’s amazing and gratifying! We have gone through several changes and setbacks but we still succeeded. It’s great to work with a wonderful team who you can also call your closest friends. We are making strides in the community and it makes me feel good, when people come up to me in the street or email me asking to be apart of the movement it gives me a wonderful feeling. Growing up I knew what I wanted and I knew how to obtain it. My mother put me in the best schools and programs and that’s where I learned that I was able to obtain anything that I wanted. I knew being in the streets wouldn’t get me to my goals. It’s wonderful to see the teens we mentor grow up and become college students and graduates. We are listening to the voices of teens who are crying out for support. We all work so hard in making this organization majestic while also working our 9 to 5’s. I’m so estatic to see what the next 10 years will look like for our organization and community. We are growing from just a “Anti-Violence campaign” to a permanent staple in the Harlem community.

  • THERE IS NO LONGER A SENSE OF VALUE, SENSE OF APPRECIATION, OR HARD-WORK PRESENT WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY! Without them we cannot achieve any real community safety; gone are the days where you could leave your front door open at any time, allowing children to play outside in the summer or trusting your neighbors. There used […]
